Happy Birthday Sistah! ;)

October is the time of the year wherein three members of the family celebrate birthdays ~ mom, sis & I. 

Since it's October 10, my sissy's birthday, I thought of writing something about her... well.. maybe.. to know if I've known her that much in her 22 years of existence. She's the youngest in the family which means she's my parents' baby.. damulag! haha.. :D She was as shy and timid as I am when she was a kid. She would just give everyone her cunning smile flaunting her pretty dimple. But, she was also a cry baby. Whenever we teased her, she would just cry.. a lot! xD So, never throw a joke at her :P

I remember when we were young, my mom would dress her with colorful and neat dresses. But, when we were given the freedom to choose the clothes we wear, she was more simple and conservative than I am. She would just wear a pair of pants and a T-shirt. Good thing an angel (ehem!) must have poked her and told her that she's a girl and she should dress like one. Now, she can wear a bikini :D. 

My sister is smart as well as diligent and studious especially during the time when she was a student. Aside from that, she's also talented and creative; she can play the flute and a little of the guitar; she can sing and reach high notes; she can do some crafts; and now, she can cook good food. (Monique, bayad nya ha? hehe)

What else? Hmmmm... (thinking)... She loves kids. She knows how to play and deal with kids. But she can also be so maldita at them... and be mean to us. She's a bully..sometimes! xD... On the other hand, she's a good daughter to my parents and a sister to us; she cooks food now, cleans the house (sometimes :P), takes care of the bills and listens to what we have to say. So, I thank her for that.

Lastly, if there's one secret I want to share about her... it is that... eng eng eng... she grinds her teeth while sleeping. I should know because we sleep together.  Hehe.

Monique, we two are far different from each other. You have your own opinion and I have mine. But no matter what happens, I'll always be here for you as your sister.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :*

My Birthday 2011

Let me share one thing that I always imagined before my birthday came: It's to celebrate it at Shangri-La's Mactan Resort and Spa wearing that orange and red striped dress that I bought a long time ago but didn't have a chance to wear. And voila! It seemed that there's an angel who whispered to my boyfriend's ears that it's just what I wanted for my birthday. When he told me about it, I couldn't stop smiling.

So October 2, 2011 came... everything was set except that I forgot to bring my sunglasses and sunscreen. But I was so excited that it didn't matter whether I'd look like a burnt pancake after. Talking about pancake, I started my day with some and a cup of coffee at McDonald's.

Then off we went to the luxury resort. The first thing that greeted us was a smile from a staff at the lobby who told us where to go. So we strolled around and saw some beautiful spots:

All the staff that we encountered while touring the resort were very polite and accommodating. I felt like a queen of my own palace.

Lunchtime came so we headed to Tides Restaurant where we made a reservation at twelve noon slot. We had sumptuous buffet meal. As I was about to finish my main dish and thought of getting some sweets, the Tides service crews surprised me with a birthday song and a birthday chocolate cake with my name on it. We were clueless on how they knew that day was my birthday but really felt happy knowing they made it so special for me, though, I got a bit shy because everyone in the restaurant was looking or glancing at our table.

We were so full after our lunch that we decided to relax in their spa. It would be my first time to try their sauna, steam bath, jacuzzi and etc. I got a bit embarrassed knowing that I couldn't get myself naked around some people so I just wore a bikini while everyone else were naked.

I certainly had a hot bath and a hot room that I just stayed there for twenty minutes. I went out to go swimming in the pool.

Later on, we walked along the beach. It's the most interesting part of my day. I have always loved looking at the sea and playing with the sand; it brings peace and tranquility inside me. I was amazed to to find out that their sand is white and powdery and told myself that I don't need to travel far anymore. Plus, I saw a lot of different kinds of fish with my bare eyes that I needed not to snorkel.

I was in pure bliss that day that I didn't want to go home. The place was indeed a paradise that I'll surely visit over and over again. I can never thank God enough for all the blessings and my boyfriend for bringing such joy in my life. Gosh, writing this blog reminds me that I'm already 24!
